University Mennonite Church understands that caring for the earth is a key part of our Christian Calling. We affirm the 2013 Creation Care Resolution of Mennonite Church USA calling on member churches to “commit to growing in their dedication to care for God’s Creation as an essential part of the good news of Jesus Christ.”

Our Creation Care Committee’s mission:

Working within our congregation and community to identify and take actions promoting Environmental Stewardship and Environmental Justice

As a congregation within the Mennonite Creation Care Network (MCCN), we:

  • Claim the biblical and theological foundation regarding the care for God’s Creation.
  • Seek to discover the ties that link all created beings to each other and to God.
  • Confess the harm we have caused the natural world and our neighbors.
  • Act faithfully to restore the earth

For in [Christ] all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him God was pleased to reconcile himself to all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross.

Colossians 1:19-20
