Ten Thousand Villages

University Mennonite Church supports Ten Thousand Villages, a non-profit organization that grew out of Mennonite Central Committee, to support fair trade and connections with artisans around the world.

For more than 25 years our church has held an annual festival sale featuring fairly traded handicrafts, housewares, clothing, and more from Ten Thousand Villages.

Ten Thousand Villages Vision – One day all artisans in developing countries will earn a fair wage, be treated with dignity and respect and be able live a life of quality.

Support Fair Trade by Shopping at the Ten Thousand Villages Store in State College!

After a couple of years of fund raising, several members of University Mennonite Church were instrumental in opening a Ten Thousand Villages store at 1341 S. Atherton Street–just two blocks from our church. The store if filled with beautiful fairly traded handicrafts from around the world. Join the maker-to-market movement and support the store by shopping or consider volunteering.
